The Crushers took a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Ross Martin, Cam MacKinnon and Covey Cameron. In the second frame, Strait Richmond scored a pair of goals before MacKinnon netted a shorthanded tally on a pass from Tanner Steele to make it 4-2. Strait Richmond added a power play goal to cut the Crushers lead to one going into the third. The final period saw the Crushers run out of steam as they gave up two goals. Jacob Fraser faced 33 shots in the Pictou County.

On Sunday morning, the Bantam AA Crushers hit the ice against Antigonish in a fast-paced game that went end to end.

Late in the first period, Antigonish was able to fire two past Crusher goalie Xander Vohs. In the second, MacKinnon scored from Myles Farnsworth and Brent Chapman to bring Pictou County closer, but Antigonish struck late in the period, adding two more to finish the period 4-1.
With the Crushers outshooting their opponent, both teams added a goal in the third for the 5-2 final. Crushers’second goal was by MacKinnon, with assists to Steele and Farnsworth.

Next weekend, the Bantam AA Crushers will travel to Acadia for the first meeting of the season between those teams, and Sunday they will be home for an exhibition game against Sackville.
