Ballantyne Fuels Peewee AAA Crushers at Jordan Boyd Memorial Tournament
2014-10-17This past weekend the Ballantyne Fuel PeeWee AAA Crushers participated in the Jordan Boyd Memorial Tournament hosted by the Bedford Blues.
This past weekend the Ballantyne Fuel PeeWee AAA Crushers participated in the Jordan Boyd Memorial Tournament hosted by the Bedford Blues.
Friday morning the Crushers faced off against the Yarmouth Mariners. They lost 4-1. Scoring the lone goal for the squad was Ryan Green with Evan Shea and Connor MacLeod picking up assists. Brayden Leblanc was in goal.
The second game of the day saw the crew go up against the East Hants Penguins. East Hants had a 1-0 lead midway into the third period and scored 3 late goals to secure the victory. Keegan Walker played well between the pipes.
On Saturday the Crushers played a strong Sackville Flyers team and the Crushers had a 2-1 lead late in the third period. The Flyers scored a late goal on the power play to tie the game. The game ended in a 2-2 tie. Scoring for the locals was Ryan Green (2) and an assist to Ethan MacDonald. Leblanc was in goal.
The final game of the day was against the West Kent Aces, one of New Brunswick’s strongest teams. The Fuel Kids held them to a 1-0 score until the end of the second period. The Aces came out hard in the third and scored 4 unanswered goals. Walker had the net minding duties.
This weekend the Crushers will host the South Shore Ice Sharks. Games will be at the Wellness Centre, Saturday’s game is at 4: pm and Sunday’s game is at 9:30 am. Come out and support the team.
